Donating to Non-Profits
FAQs
Q. How does your contribution program work?
A. Blanchard Enterprises, will donate 20% of the sale price of any product bought on my website (excluding tax) to the non-profit groups listed on my site. So if your non-profit members and their friends and families spend $5,000 on my products, your non-profit group can receive $1,000 for just publicizing my website – which means a big return for very little work on your part!
Q. I see some of your non-profits show a 50% donation amount. Why is their amount larger?
A: To encourage new non-profits to join, for the first 90 days after registering, Blanchard Enterprises will donate 50% of the cost (excluding tax) of HandiRecords products purchased by customers who select that non-profit. That will maximize a non-profit’s ability to raise funds with this new program and will encourage volunteers to get the word out. When the non-profit has been registered for 90 days, the donation amount from Blanchard Enterprises will decrease to 20%.
Q. Why are you doing this?
A. There are three main reasons. First, as a fledgling entrepreneur, I need a way to inexpensively spread the word about HandiRecords. By sharing any success I have with non-profits, I’m creating a win-win situation for both of us. Non-profits tell their members and friends about my products and with very little work; they receive 20% of the sale price. With this program, I spend less than I would on advertising or placing my products in stores or catalogs. Secondly, I believe I have a good product and I want as many people to hear about it as possible. Thirdly, I am blessed in my life and I want to give something back to the world and this is my creative way to do it.
Q. How do you choose the non-profits?
A. I’m starting with my own personal favorites: Smile Train – an organization devoted to repairing cleft palates in children around the world; Bat Conservation International –saving bats who are crucial contributors to our environment, Friends Forever – a wonderful animal shelter in Freeport, IL that I proudly belong to; and Save The Chimps – a group dedicated to giving chimps used in research a place to live out their lives. Many of the rescued chimps had never stepped foot outside a cage until they were brought to the organization’s refuge. You can also add your own non-profit organizations to share in my success! I’d love to see some non-profits that help senior citizens, children’s organizations, and organizations that help people with chronic illnesses added to my list.
Q. How can I get my non-profit organization to participate?
A. Have the appropriate member of your organization download and return a registration form. When we receive it and it is approved, we’ll add their name to the drop-down list. When your members buy anything on the website, they need to select that group’s drop-down box to indicate they want 20% of their purchase price to go to that non-profit.
Q. How often do you send checks to non-profits?
A. I’ll send them once a month, at the beginning of the month, as long as the amount is $25.00 or more. If the amount is less than $25.00, I’ll carry that amount forward until it reaches $25.00.
Q. How can we maximize the money we raise for our non-profit?
A. First, tell your members about my products and this program. You can do that in variety of ways. If you have an electronic newsletter, download a variety of articles about HandiRecords that contain an active link to my web site. If you have a printed newsletter, just copy and paste the articles. Or you can download color order sheets* you can provide to your members. This is a large file, so please be patient! Another profitable option is to ask your members to circulate an email to their personal address books. Purchasers don’t have to be a member of your non-profit organization; they just have to click on your non-profit’s name. Remember repetition is the key to success! You could run the article in each newsletter for a few months. *(Please note that the order form is in PDF format, which requires you have Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download the reader here for FREE.)
Q. What if I have further questions about how this program works?
A. Please send me an email and I’ll be happy to answer your question.
Small Print: I reserve the right to accept or reject any non-profit’s application or to change or suspend this program at any time. The donation amount for any returned product will be deducted from future donations to that organization. A friend asked me how I would handle it if I wound up having to send monthly checks to 100 non-profits. I told her I only hope to have that problem, because it will mean my program is working; I’m selling HandiRecords and non-profits are sharing in my success.
